Leaders from several charter support organizations and schools have agreed to serve on the new association’s board of directors. Initial board members include: 

• Chuck Cook, Responsive Education Solutions, Dallas
• Lori Fey, Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, Austin
• Charles Miller, Meridian National, Inc., Houston
• Arturo Suarez, Positive Solutions Charter School, San Antonio
• Chris Barbic,YES Prep Public Schools, Houston

“With leaders from TEACH, Texas C.H.O.I.C.E, CSPI, and ACE, we are building a board that reflects the diverse landscape of charters in Texas. This is further evidence that the charter community is coming together to forge ahead for the benefit of their students and families,” said Lori Fey of the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. The board’s immediate focus is on conducting the national search for the association’s executive director, and securing the initial funding to launch the organization’s operations as it builds membership. Board recruitment continues and additional charter and community leaders will be asked over the coming months.
